As the spread of COVID-19 (a.k.a. the Coronavirus or Wuhan virus) increases, the CDC has indicated that from now until mid-April is critical, as they expect the number of cases to increase significantly.   Refer to the Pandemic Preparedness Tips for the Faith Community posted in the foyer.

Because of this concern, the Elders have discussed ways in which to help limit the spread of this disease within our congregation, which includes the following:

  • Hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed in the building. Please use.  Also, hand washing is imperative.
  • Bottles of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes have been placed in all the class rooms, nursery, and offices.  After Bible Class, we are asking all teachers to wipe down tables, chairs, and high touch areas, such as door knobs and light switches, with disinfectant wipes.  Spray and cushioned chairs with Lysol.
  • Children’s nursery and toddler toys must also be wiped down with disinfectant wipes after each use
  • Please refrain from shaking hands or hugging to minimize risk of spreading germs.
  • If you are ill, or feeling ill, refrain from attending services. Self-isolate if possible.
  • If you are in the “high risk” category because of age or health conditions, stay home.
  • Practice “social distancing” (six feet) while at church.  SPREAD OUT.
  • Refrain from large crowds if possible.

The Elders solicit your input, cooperation, and participation during this period.

Thanks,
The Elders
