Ephesians 2:1-7, And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Controlling what we think can be a very difficult task. As Christians it is especially hard if we allow ungodly thoughts to dominate or infiltrate how we think and what we tend to focus on. Some might be willing to turn a blind-eye to thoughts that they feel don’t compromise their relationship with God. Some are unwilling to acknowledge the harm of negative thinking about themselves or others.

We have, in our minds, a tremendous ability to store vast amounts of information. Our brains are so complex that scientists, today, can not calculate its ability to store and retrieve data. We establish our personal/real value by what we deem to be true. This is how we see ourselves. If we have a negative self-view, we will certainly conduct ourselves in that way. An old adage says, “winners never lose, and losers never win.” Not because winners never actually lose, or losers never actually win, but because of how each group sees itself.

Next week, refuse to see yourself negatively. I’m not saying don’t live a repentant life. I am saying live your life with the understanding of your God-given value, not the secular deception Satan plagues us with. When that hate filled voice within you calls you inadequate, unable, or otherwise unqualified, please remember that we are children of God and as such are heirs of the kingdom.

God will never belittle or humiliate you. He leads to a place of love, forgiveness, and spiritual healing. What we need is not a new mirror, we need anew heart. There are aspects to achieving success that only God can gives us. That’s worth time in thought. Have a blessed week.
